DON’T YOU KNOW WHO I WAS?
I recently took part in a group show at Hardess Studios a cool spot in Loughborough Junction South London a cool group of studio spaces part of the Artcore int group. The show was great, (sorry this post is late) Films, music and art over a 4 day period from the 1st to the 4th of October. For future up to date news of events and shows ( best to check instagram) But… to get back to the reason for this post…Beanz ! So i exhibited some old and new works at the show one of them being the Beanz.

I’ve been playing with beans for a few years, (i know! i shouldn’t play with my food!) the box above was a birch ply edition produced when i asked myself what would be the UK’s iconic brand equivalent to Warhols Brillo boxes? I thought Baked beans was a rather good answer.
The recent increases of prices across the board in the Uk in all aspects of this cost of living crisis made this small edition apt ( a rise in prices in all apart, that is, from the art world that I inhabit ) This prompted me to produce a small edition of limited edition Beanz (Has beens) to exhibit at the show.

The tins were a visual joke that was enforced by their pricing, each tin was £10 and an edition of 50, meaning that if i sold out i would have made a monkey during the show. They sold quite well but didn’t quite sell out, and now i am the proud owner of the rest of the edition (and i don’t like or eat beans!) So i am offering them for sale in my shop check them out here

If you buy 3 tins you get your tins in this smart presentation case at no extra cost! The cases are a smaller edition of 16 and there are only a few left, so subject to availability. Happy shopping!
