Graffiti Dialogues

So friends at DAC have asked me to take part in Graffiti Dialogues an ongoing research into the questions, answers and paradoxes behind the criminalization of street art. Thats probably not the way they would describe it but the series of workshops do go in some way to discuss the issues behind , art crime and public space.

This workshop looks to engage with practicing artists, local designers, academics, graffiti practitioners and others connected to both formal and infomal creative industries, to discuss codes of practice employed.

Anyhow the workshop takes place in the Bristol Museum, chosen for its pivotal place in the institutional acceptance of what is still classed as a crime. There from 11am to 4pm.

Suppose it is inevitable, and i am probably too late, but there is now a facebook page for all things Dotmasters. Held out a long time until i didn’t know what i was holding out for. Long gone are the days when Facebook was the evil interloper into cyber space (jeez! do you remember cyber space?) . Well suppose you either like it or unlike it. Pervasive as it is, it’s still a good way of getting a message out i suppose. You can check it out here

Joy’s first wall

May is a big month in my house, after attack of the killer noni in the garden, work starts on replacing the jasmine in the back garden for joys 6th birthday. Faced with a large cinder block wall Joy and i decided to decorate it.

Joy painted most of it with the bits out of reach being painted by myself.

commission Mallorca

Mallorca revisited

Some nice shots of Mallorca house Casa Son Vida featured at Juxtapoz. The plan is to repaint it this July, plans are already underway for a more bond villain style work to replace the coi carp. ‘Best Ever’ Neil set to join me on the trip, theres a Son Vida mission. Be good to hit a wall or two after we’ve finished what we’ve come to do!

Glastonbury

Old Boney

Welding on Old Boney started down at ‘One little girl and a can of gasoline‘ today with petethewelder and racheal at the helm. Old Boney being the new attraction at the unfairground for this years Glastonbury festival. The festival looms and time is short. Were a man down in the last 20 minutes of the game and the workers are loaded.
