Suppose it is inevitable, and i am probably too late, but there is now a facebook page for all things Dotmasters. Held out a long time until i didn’t know what i was holding out for. Long gone are the days when Facebook was the evil interloper into cyber space (jeez! do you remember cyber space?) . Well suppose you either like it or unlike it. Pervasive as it is, it’s still a good way of getting a message out i suppose. You can check it out here
If your going to do a graffiti show then expect some body to hit up your gallery wall. Kastu shows us how its done, I remember being chased off the Baltic during the spank the monkey show….should of used an extinguisher
So…Here’s your first chance to watch “Eloquent Vandals” the film about the Nuart’s festival 2008. Half an hour long and made with a hell of allot of good will. Its not a bad snapshot of what happens at Nuart (if you ignore the horrid lies that i break our artists noses). Any how you can watch it Monday January 31st at 10.00 GMT at the brooklynite gallery site. The film was directed and shot and lit by Martin Hawkes with myself conducting all the interviews and doing the sound . There is a fantastic soundtrack by Nick smith and the whole thing was put together at Saft films under the watchful eye of Mr Nuart himself Martyn Reed. Its worth a look and features footage of Nuart 2007 plus in depth interviews and a general look and feel at what we do at Nuart. There are lots of free give aways available on the day so turn on, tune in, and Get up!
Crazy night last night with maxi and heinz drinking at pasha, decided at 2.30 am to hit some walls in the resort, -12 C half cut on tequilla with the cans sticking to my hands. I realised then why there is so little graffiti in the town. More shots to follow when I finally get home, snowed out of gatwick and getting bored of innsbruck airport.
Had to leave the guys painting in the rain this morning as I am off to paint in austria for the weekend. If your passing cheer them on, perhaps buy them a coffee? Good luck lads !
What a day! What a place! Painting with Daim and Loomit today!!! Heroes of mine and painting at the same place and same time, it couldn’t get better, ok it could be summer, not -1, not snowing but other than the chapped lips and cold toes, it rocked! This Tunnel is amazing, work by flying fortress guesting Akut’s eye, Loomit, Daim a shit load of the best guys you could ask for, will get a full list tomorrow.
managed a few walls, you will have to excuse the poor photography from my blackberry, better shots to come tomorrow, too late, too tired and too cold.
the Tunnel is well worth a visit if your in Munich. All works look set to ride for a year or so, they are all protected with that dam anti graffiti wax that stops us touching things. Never had so many people stop to talk about a zone, reminded me of nuart in a way, a lot of love for this tunnel in this town.
So it was a mad 24 dash to get the thing together but 6 of the 9 of the ‘Capture’ series went on show at the Black Rat Press gallery in Rivington Street last night. A series of stencil painted canveses depicting famous cctv footage. A decision to make a more interactive element at the last minute, resulted in manic midnight carpentry, thanks shaun. The final 3 of the series will appear over the course of the show, shambolic i know, but its been hectic and blah blah blah.
More photos of the works can be found here
filmed in a couple of evenings, Jon, Frank and myself…..very silly
