Commissioned by Nuart festival for a stunning new building in Stavanger, Norway.

I know it’s all a bit late but the reason to write it up is so i can remember where and what the hell i have been doing over the last few months…to be honest it’s been a bit of a blur.
Old friend and collaborator Martyn Reed invited me to Stavanger to do a show at his gallery Reed Projects. There is work available from the show on their online gallery here
widewalls gave some nice coverage here
We produced a print for the event the latest in the TOY series that are dotted all over town from years gone by:
Well it’s been a busy, blurry week. Finally there is little to do other than travel home tired and a bit broken. A truly amazing week with a really nice bunch of people. This years Nuart had an amazing bunch of volunteers who helped us all paint walls, drive cars, find lost phones and generally provide the momentum that created the show. They are too numerous to mention, but i will try (if i’ve forgotten you, nudge me and i’ll add your name). Thank you Vegar, Andreas, Erik, Annette, Joanna ,Crystal, GT, Ove, Mirian, Gjoa, Graham, Chris, Emma, Nina, Trym, Liz, Ruth Adele, Epiphany and Thomas. The production team rocked and occasionally rolled. While we lick our self inflicted wounds and pick over the photos here’s a few of the ones i found this morning. There will be a steady stream over the coming weeks. Can’t wait to see the backstage shots that Kay Donnelly caught (it got very messy). Photographs below by Erik Furuland
Photographs below by Ian CoxNuart was visited by the Cultural Minister for the Norwegian Government, just as you think you’re getting some sort of recognition, they have a bloody election and oust the buggers…oh well bet we will be favourites with the new right wing government….Not!
Well, thats it for another year, can’t wait to show you the silly side of the festival…coming soon!
Nuart promo
It’s early days up at Tou for Nuart13, Roa, David Choe, Dot, Dot, Dot and myself have started popping up around town. The weathers great (for the moment) so we’re lapping it up. Loads more folk turn up at the weekend, and it looks like it’s going to be a busy week. It’s been a long time since i painted at Nuart, the last thing was the large Toy bear at the end of Pedersgate, so keeping with that theme… There’s a mean old Toy turf war going on out there, with Kewpie dolls lining out Action men, tin toy Robbie the robot having beef with Mr potato Head, there’s trouble in Toy town.
Thanks to all who came to the show at REed proJECTS Gallery on the 9th for my show “High class trash”. A great night was had by all, fixing vodka martini’s in a grey plastic bucket oiled the wheels for Martyns inspired idea of having a costume competition for 10 free prints. Which coupled with the Trashtini’s brought the best and worst out in so many of you. The idea was to come as a Toff or trashy, with all too many of you opting for the classy end of the spectrum. I Think if it was in London we would of seen more cheap chains and shell suits, at least i know it would of been the outfit for me and my crew. Below are a selection of the winners of the best and worst dressed. Thanks to all who came, got trashed, also a special thank you to Martyn, Tore, Camilla, Anastasia and Jon who made it all possible.
Lassa and son.

Even the dog got a prize in this very fetching recycled jacket.
Again thanks to all who came, drank, bought and had fun. Shows open till the 9th of December.
I should Coco
Well it’s here, the much requested and much against my better judgement; a whopping 9 colour bloody silkscreen, yep thats right 9! And not just 9 pulls, oh no! That would just be tooooo easy, there’s in excess of 15 pulls in this print. It’s been printed by those lovely guys at K2. Entitled “I should Coco” its an edition of 50 on 250gsm white Somerset paper, signed and embossed, made in collaberation with Reed Projects gallery in Stavanger. Mail them if you want one, but i think its being released primarily to visitors to the gallery on the 9th of November.
Plans are afoot for a very silly night out in the Rejects gallery on the 9th of November. A glamourous night of trashed is guaranteed, they’ll be rewards for those who either come dressed ‘High Class’ or ‘Trash’, that is… pikey or posh to those in the know. Evening gowns and shell suits, prada or drinking trainers the choice is yours! The night see’s a number of Dotmaster themes re visited trash/glamour stick. Available on the night from the gallery the much requested Chanel print, A2 (594 x 420 mm) 250g somerset white paper with 9 colour silkscreen print.
